Season 2021

We will be opening as planned for the 2021 season. The bath house, pavilion, and playground will be open for use. We ask our campers to follow all CDC guidelines as they are released. Please call us with any questions.

End of Season 2020

Thank you to all of our campers and guests. You were extraordinary during this strange season. We can’t wait until we can open next summer and are hopeful things will return somewhat normal.

June 12, 2020 Update

Beginning tomorrow, Saturday, June 13, visitors will be able to visit your site!  Woohoo!  Guests MUST check-in before visiting you. Here are the details about guest self check-in and guest policies:

Guests from Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont are allowed to visit SLC campers at this time. If the guest lives in a state other than Maine, NH, or VT, we are sorry to say they cannot visit at this time.

Guests must self check-in before entering the campground.

Beginning tomorrow, Saturday, June 13th, we will have a guest self check-in station at the Gazebo.

They will stop their car at the Gazebo. In the Gazebo there will be a table with a self check-in folder. Guests will need to review the guest policy (it’s a short one pager), and fill out a very brief guest check-in form – one form for each adult visitor.

  • If any guest is feeling sick or may have been exposed to COVID-19, they are prohibited from visiting the campground.
  • While visiting, guests must stay at the site of the camper they are visiting.
  • Bath house, laundry room, and pavilion are still closed at this time.
  • Guests and campers should follow physical distance guidelines, mask if physical distancing is not possible.

Please remember that there is no charge for daytime guests and overnight guest charge is $5 per night / per person. This is on the honor system, you can always give us a call if you have a hard time finding us. We’ve been so busy lately. Thank you!

Also, more great news – the playground is now open! Yay!

May 19, 2020 Update

The Governor announced today that private campgrounds can open for Maine Residents on Friday, May 22 for Memorial Weekend. Woohoo! We will be open with these guidelines:

  • Patrons should wear face coverings in public areas whenever physical distancing is not possible.
  • On June 1, when we are open to out of state campers, they must adhere to the 14-day quarantine requirement upon arriving at the campground at this time per executive order. This means you must bring all supplies and food you need for your stay of up to 14 days.  While quarantining, you must stay at your campsite, preferably in your camper.
  • If any camper is feeling sick or may have been exposed to COVID-19, you are to stay home.
  • Visitors are not allowed in the campground at any time in the month of June.  We’ll reassess in a few weeks.
  • You can gather in groups of up to 10 people.  If you are visiting another site, practice social distancing – remain 6 feet apart from the folks you are visiting.
  • Bath house, laundry room, playground, and pavilion will be closed in June. We’ll reassess the ability for us to maintain these per the CDC guidelines in a few weeks.
  • Campsites are limited to a single household. Per executive Order #49 FY 19/20 each campsite is limited to 10 occupants, however, your Silver Lake Campground agreement limits you to 4 occupants.

Our guidelines are based on the Maine COVID-19 Prevention Checklist Industry Guidance for Campgrounds provided by the state on May 14th.  Some of our decisions are based on what we are personally able to monitor and maintain throughout the month of June.   You can find a link to the state provided checklist below.

Maine Reopening Plan

May 8, 2020 Update

Hi Campers. We got some clarification on the Governor’s announcement today. Unfortunately, commercial campgrounds are not included in the camp areas that are allowed to open on May 18th. We are still set to open on June 1st.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding!

May 4, 2020 Update

There have been a lot of questions about opening this season and how things will work at the campground.  We hope this letter helps to explain our plan to move forward.

We will be following the Governor’s staged reopening plan.

Here are some important details you need to know:

> We are allowed to open on June 1st (Stage 2) to Maine residents and out-of-state residents who have completed the 14 day quarantine guidelines.

> From what we understand, out-of-state residents can complete your quarantine in your camper.

> Visitors will not be allowed in June. > Common areas – bathhouse, laundry room, and pavilion will be closed in June. > The gate will be closed Sunday – Wednesdays this month. If you’d like to check on your site or drop off a payment, please come in Thursday – Saturday until we open on June 1st.

Please know that the guidelines could change as the state is fine-tuning their reopening plan.   If any changes apply to us we will update our Facebook page and website so check there periodically.  We appreciate your patience and understanding as we are doing our best to give you a great season at Silver Lake Campground while remaining safe and keeping our license!

If you have questions or concerns, just give us a call – 207-545-0416.

Our very best to you and your family!   Jami and Bob

P.S.  We have seen a lot of dogs off leash as folks are coming into the campground to check on your sites.  So this is a good time to remind you that all dogs must be on a leash at all times when at the campground.  Being an SLC camper means you agree to this.
